Clevis Tongue
A clevis tongue is a connecting fitting used to join insulators, suspension clamps, and other components in overhead transmission lines. It has a U-shaped opening on one end and a threaded bolt passing through the other end, secured with a nut and cotter pin. It is hot dip galvanized to make sure it will not get rusty. The Cotter pin is made from stainless steel.
- The open U-shape allows it to easily slip over a clevis pin or another compatible fitting.
- The clevis tongue is attached to the threaded rod of the turnbuckle, allowing for adjustment by rotating the body of the turnbuckle.
- The galvanized coating provides corrosion resistance, making it suitable for outdoor use.
